The 44th Forum on the Culture of Oil and Wine took place in Rome at the headquarters of the Italian Sommelier Foundation<\/strong> at the Hotel Rome Cavalieri<\/strong>, with the extraordinary presence of the President of the Republic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “The honor granted to us by the President is a recognition of the commitment made over the years by the Italian Sommelier Foundation and Bibenda to the cultural growth of Oil, Wine, and the Products of the Land,”<\/em> these were the words of Franco M. Ricci<\/strong> on Saturday morning while awaiting the arrival of the Head of State<\/strong>.<\/p>\n 30 Sommeliers in uniform<\/strong> were lined up along the President\u2019s path, accompanying his steps to the entrance of the Hall<\/strong>, where 1,200 people<\/strong> were eagerly awaiting. As soon as his arrival was perceived, an almost magical, surreal silence suddenly fell over the large hall, yet it spoke volumes: respect, emotion, and deep sentiment<\/strong>. Until the spontaneous, joyful applause<\/strong> erupted when the distinguished guest<\/strong> stepped into the room.<\/p>\n Everyone stood to listen to the National Anthem<\/strong> sung by Francesco Grollo<\/strong>, a tenor from Treviso<\/strong>, who has been dedicated to the correct interpretation of Il Canto degli Italiani.<\/em> Immediately after the execution of the Anthem<\/strong>, the President of the Republic<\/strong> took his seat.<\/p>\n On stage, Elisabetta Salvatori<\/strong> narrated “The Tale of Oil”<\/em>, an original composition<\/strong> created specifically for the 44th Forum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Following this, the opening address<\/strong> by Franco M. Ricci.<\/strong><\/p>\n The conference<\/strong> provided a moment for reflection and discussion<\/strong> on the value of the Italian agri-food sector<\/strong>. Among the speakers<\/strong>: Angela Velenosi<\/strong>, producer of Oil and Wine, on “The World of Oil”, <\/em>Daniela Scrobogna<\/strong>, Head of Education at the Italian Sommelier Foundation<\/strong>, with “Learning About Wine and Oil”, <\/em>Angelo Gaja<\/strong>, an icon of Italian wine<\/strong>, with “The Journey of Wine, the Ultimate Cultural Beverage”. Finally, the speech by the President of the Republic<\/strong>, who at the end of his address greeted the audience and the Oil Producers<\/strong> present at their stations.<\/em><\/p>\n Speeches, videos, and images from the 44th Forum on the Culture of Oil and Wine<\/strong> are now available online on the Bibenda website<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Following the conference, the tasting counters<\/strong> were opened, featuring over 200 Oils<\/strong> from the 200 companies<\/strong> awarded the 5 Gocce Bibenda 2025<\/strong>, as well as the Cinque Grappoli Wines<\/strong> from the wineries that received both prestigious recognitions.<\/p>\n During the day, two additional key moments<\/strong> marked the 44th Forum<\/strong>:<\/p>\n At 2:00 PM,<\/strong> new Sommeliers<\/strong> were inaugurated<\/strong> from the 76th Course in Rome, the 1st Course in Capena, and the 2nd Course in Fermo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n At 5:30 PM,<\/strong> as every year, the special class “Oil for Children”<\/em> took place.<\/p>\n This exclusive initiative<\/strong> by the Italian Sommelier Foundation<\/strong> presents Oil to these young learners<\/strong>. Since the first time these events<\/strong> were organized, we have been surprised by the curiosity sparked by this topic, which stimulates the pure and highly attentive senses of children<\/strong>, true prodigies of learning.<\/p>\n Over time, this has become an unmissable moment of flavor and play<\/strong>, where more than 70 children<\/strong>, aged 5 to 11<\/strong>, tasted and listened<\/strong> to the most beautiful message<\/strong> that Oil<\/strong> can convey.
